Having read multiple books and seen many documentaries on the consumption of animal products.. I have decided to change my life for the better. This is a choice that someone has to make totally on their own and it can be detrimental if one doesn't know the proper ways to eat healthy (just because you're vegan doesn't mean you can sit around and eat Oreos all day!!). Last night, Nathan and I saw the film, "Forks over Knives" and it proved to be one of the most influential diet documentaries I've ever viewed. It shows the amazing correlation between animal products and disease. In this light, I've decided to change my life drastically for the better. This is a form of protest against disease, factory farms, huge fast food businesses that trick you into buying their products, people who eat whatever they're told without looking at the labels, the fact that cow's milk doesn't make any sense when people drink it, and most of all...... cruelty to animals who are used for meat, milk, and leather/fur and other products.
If you have any questions for me, I'd be more than glad to answer them! Just comment below, and I'll feature your question in another post!

I'm a vegan, too! Good decision for you.
yay, i'm happy for you! i was vegan for 5 years or so but went back to lacto-ovo-vegetarian a few years ago because of laziness. i've been thinking of going vegan again but unfortunately i'm just not quite there yet.
Being vegan is awesome. If you want the names of some good cookbooks, let me know!

You asked me for some advise. Well..there are plenty of good recipes on the Internet. And I've found some help from this forum: VeggieBoards
The hardest thing is dealing with people who aren't vegans (and most people aren't!). They can tell you all kind of stupid things. So you have to be prepared for that. When you go to a party the best thing is to bring something, because maybe there is no vegan food (this has happened to me and I was very hungry afterwards). Another tip: the best is not to tell omnivores that you're vegan unless you have to. I know that from experience.
Be strong and remember, veganism is your choice and it's good for animals, you and the planet! :)
My email address is laurenalexandrahunter at gmail, just feel free to drop me an email and I can recommend you some awesome stuff! xo
My mom and dad are vegans! :) I'm a vegetarian (as you know) and I haven't drank milk in years. I love seeing documentaries like this come out, because it not only focuses on cruelty and inhumanity, but the health factor in that animal products really are bad for you. I wanna see this!
Way to go, Polly! I'm SO proud of you. :)

Congratulations, Polly! You look gorgeous too by the way. :) xx
Good for you!
I just became a vegetarian a few months ago. Just stopped fancying meat...not sure I could go vegan. I could easily live without a lot of animal products. But I could never ever live without chocolate and cake. I've had vegan cake, and it's alright but its just not the same ;)
You should do a little update in a couple months about the process/your body changes/hardships, etc!
Congratulations! It sounds like you're doing it for all the right reasons. I would love it if you shared some recipes with us here, as you discover them. I'm not veggie or vegan but you can't ignore the financial and health benefits of eating less/no meat, so I'm always keen to learn some new dinners to try!
Good for you!! Vegan is not for me, my stomach is basically built on cow's milk (seriously, first thing I go to when recovering from a stomach flu and I might be the only one). But I respect the decision, and you definitely are doing it for the right reasons. Good luck!
I agree with some of the other commenters, keep us updated!

I admire you for going vegan. Good luck! I personally cannot let go of my love for meat, but I am very aware of the cruelty towards animals in meat production especially in the U.S. Labels don't show everything what happens behind the scenes. I've seen huge cattle ranches where cows are fattened with corn and hormones when they should be fed grass and at their own pace. Thus said, I don't eat hot dogs or hamburgers outside of my home and when I buy meat, milk, and other dairy products, it's always organic. I enjoy tofurkey, too!
love this outfit, and good for you! i eat meat but its a constant struggle to get things i know are responsibly made and grown. even in a big city it can be hard. veganyumyum is still my favorite website even if its not updated anymore.
I totally support you even if I'm not a vegan yet... And love your dress !
